Since 2012, the Children’s Air Ambulance had been helping to save lives with one aircraft, but following a six-year project, it launched two new flying intensive care units at a Royal garden party. While the charity already had support of several celebrity ambassadors, how could we raise its profile further and showcase its life-saving work.
We were tasked with raising awareness of the charity and its vital role through case study creation and media relations, securing interviews in high-profile titles.
Our help was also required to ensure information about the new helicopters and the Royal garden party was propelled into the spotlight. We hit the phones, calling upon our key contacts to attend the event, securing confirmation from publications including the Daily Mail, the Mirror, the Sun and Hello! Magazine.
During the star-studded event at Lambeth Palace, we were on hand to handle all media interviews.
We secured scoops with celebrity ambassadors including Queen’s legendary guitarist Brian May and former England goalkeeper David Seaman, arranging tours of the new helicopter that featured in press.
To elevate and showcase the importance of the charity, we even battled adverse weather conditions to arrange for celebrity TV doctor, Dr Ranj, and his camera man to ride in one of the new aircraft. Interviewing one of the case studies whose life was saved helped highlight the Children’s Air Ambulance’s life-saving work for an in-depth 10 minute package on ITV’s This Morning.
