CALA Homes (West) trials new app amidst major Glasgow event
An award-winning homebuilder in the West of Scotland has accelerated the introduction of virtual viewing technology to combat potential disruption around its Glasgow developments during COP26.
CALA Homes (West), which is currently building its flagship development at Jordanhill Park in the west end of the city, and another at Prince’s Quay to the south of the city, has brought forward the introduction of a new app to allow virtual showhome viewings – with the technology being trialled at both Glasgow sites.
‘MovinOnApp’ uses similar technology to that already used for car sales, by allowing CALA’s expert sales consultants to create and send personalised viewing videos of selected showhomes or viewhomes to potential homebuyers.
It complements the existing virtual viewing methods that were ramping up during the Covid-19 lockdown – including 360⁰ computer generated tours, virtually staged showhomes, and the homebuilder’s interactive site plans and plot selector tool.
‘MovinOnApp’ allows sales consultants to completely tailor showhome tours to suit potential buyers, focusing in on key areas of particular interest to each customer, enabling homebuyers to take in a realistic picture of the space and spec on offer – bringing each of the properties to life.
Liana Canavan, Sales and Marketing Director for CALA Homes (West), said: “We’ve noticed that, since lockdown, whilst in-person viewing appointments have picked up again, potential homebuyers really appreciate having a suite of virtual options at their disposal, so we took the decision to develop our existing offering even further with the ‘MovinOnApp’.
“The app trial has been brought forward in response to COP26, which will have a huge impact on the city. With two of our key flagship developments, Jordanhill Park and Prince’s Quay, sitting just a stone’s through from the hub of the event, we realise it may not be practical for customers to make the journey to see us in person. It made sense to accelerate the trial period and focus it on our Glasgow sites at a time when it will be needed most.
“Going forward, we believe homebuyers are going to be more conscious from a sustainability perspective by perhaps trying to reduce the miles travelled by car. Offering a comprehensive virtual viewing and appointment set-up means they won’t need to make as many trips to get a feel for exactly what’s on offer and can visit us in person when the time is right.”
