Vivien Bryan, a resourcing partner at one of Scotland’s leading independent bar and restaurant operators, Buzzworks Holdings, is celebrating after scooping the coveted s1jobs Shona Mckenzie Shine Award at a glittering ceremony held in Glasgow.
From individual HR professionals across a wide range of industry sectors to companies specialising in recruitment, the awards recognise those who have made an impact over the last 12 months.
Vivien was presented with the accolade at the s1Jobs Recruitment Awards, in association with Quarriers, on Thursday (April 20) recognising her hard work, dedication and drive to go the extra mile within her role.
Since August of last year, Vivien has recruited 275 people into the business across 19 venues, reducing vacancies by 18 per cent thanks to her enthusiasm, passion for hospitality and highly distinctive approach to onboarding new staff.
Whether it’s joining a team member on their first bus trip into work or finding a local dog walker for a prospective recruit looking to relocate, Vivien never fails to go above and beyond to deliver a seamless, personable recruitment experience.
Upon receiving the award, Vivien said: “I am delighted to have been awarded the S1Jobs Shona McKenzie Shine Award and am very grateful for all the support the team at Buzzworks have shown to get me where I am today.
“This is, therefore, not just my award, but one for the whole team. It was an honour to be shortlisted beside such recognisable businesses and represent hospitality amongst many other industries, so to win is something we will celebrate.
“I love my job and take great pride welcoming so many talented people into our business, supporting them to build a rewarding career in the hospitality industry.”
Buzzworks Head of People, Nicola Watt followed: “We are super proud of Vivien for achieving this prestigious award, which is very well deserved thanks to her innovative solutions and determination to attract people to our growing business.
“Since 2020, the Hospitality Industry has witnessed multiple challenges when it comes to recruitment and over the past two years, vacancies at Buzzworks alone have reached an all-time high.
“Even with the exception of these obstacles, recruiting for 19 venues is no easy task, yet Vivien never shies away from a challenge, using her bubbly personality and creativity to find great people who belong at Buzzworks.
